Notes

'Messagère' peony (Paeonia 'Messagère') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Single white flowers have green tints and a sweet scent, and butterflies and bees visit the blooms. Victor Lemoine bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Blue Mouse Ears hosta, Little Beauty tulip, and Annabelle hydrangea.
