Mexicola Grande avocado

Garden uses

Notes

'Mexicola Grande' avocado (Persea americana 'Mexicola Grande') is a tree grown for its buttery fruits in the food garden. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes full or part sun. The fruit has paper-thin black skin that is easy to peel, and it ripens from late summer through mid-winter. This is an A Type tree, so plant a B Type nearby for cross pollination and fruit on both trees.

Pairs well with Camphor tree, Red ginger, and Lemon grass.
