Notes

'Milton' apple (Malus domestica 'Milton') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Richard Wellington bred it in 1909, and it is a cross of 'Yellow Transparent' and 'McIntosh'. The tree has a dense habit and grows at a moderate rate. Bees visit the spring blooms, and the fruit ripens early.

Pairs well with Raspberry, Johnny jump up, Prairie dropseed, and Greig's tulip.
