Notes

Mojave kingcup cactus (Echinocereus triglochidiatus) is a succulent for xeriscapes, containers, and borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. Bright red-orange flowers often cover the whole plant and last for several days. Hummingbirds and bees visit the blooms. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with Narrow-leaf chalksticks, American century plant, and Shenandoah switchgrass.
