Notes

'Monrell' butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii 'Monrell') is a shrub for borders, pollinator gardens, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Light purple, fragrant flowers open in early to late summer and again in early to late autumn. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Clary sage, Japanese forest grass, and Ornamental onion.
