Notes

'Monsieur Barral' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Monsieur Barral') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Calot bred it in 1866. Fragrant, light pink flowers with lilac shading open in late spring and fade to silvery edges. The tall, open plant has long, strong stems.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, Monkshood, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
