Notes

'Montezuma' peony (Paeonia 'Montezuma') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant crimson goblet blooms have two rows of rounded petals on large, heavy stems. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta, Limelight hydrangea, and Sedge.
