Notes

'Morganit' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Morganit') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. In early to mid spring it bears fragrant, single, rose-pink flowers with black flares and lighter outer petals. Each stem holds one cupped bloom about 8½ inches wide. Irmtraud Rieck bred it, and it grows upright and spreading to about 55 inches tall.

Pairs well with False indigo, Queen of Night tulip, and Toad lily.
