Notes
'Mother Marianne Elisson' peony (Paeonia 'Mother Marianne Elisson') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its single black flowers measure 3 to 4 inches across and face outward. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. The plant grows low and broad, so give it some support.
Pairs well with First Frost hosta, Annabelle hydrangea, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Nodding onion.
