Notes

'Moulin Rouge' carnation (Dianthus 'Moulin Rouge') is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil of most types. It blooms in spring and again in summer, and the fragrant flowers draw butterflies and bees. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. The foliage stays evergreen.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Casa Blanca lily, and Coral Sunset peony.
