Notes

'Mr. L. van Leeuwen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mr. L. van Leeuwen') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double, light crimson flowers open in late spring and have a sweet fragrance. The petals relax as the blooms open, so the centers can look a little dishevelled.

Pairs well with Fragrant Bouquet hosta, David garden phlox, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
