Notes
'Munchkin' oakleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia 'Munchkin') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Creamy white flower heads age to light pink and red, and they also work in dried arrangements. The leaves turn mahogany in fall and stay on the plant long into the season.
Pairs well with Switchgrass, Autumn fern, Red twig dogwood, and Butterfly milkweed.
