Notes

'Murasaki-hime' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Murasaki-hime') is a shrub for specimen, accent, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It grows slowly into a broad shape and turns color in fall. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Reddish-purple flowers open in early to late spring, and bees and birds visit the plant.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Bracken, Casa Blanca lily, and Primrose.
