Notes

'Naughton' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Naughton') is a perennial for borders, cut flower gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Kelsey bred it in 1938. The blush flowers have a Japanese form and open in mid season. Narrow staminodes are yellow at the base and white at the tips.

Pairs well with Fire and Ice hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Black Hero tulip.
