Notes

'Niagara' apple (Malus domestica 'Niagara') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It has a dense habit and grows at a moderate rate. Bees visit the flowers in early to late spring. The New York State Agricultural Experiment Station bred it in 1962 from Carlton and McIntosh.

Pairs well with Iris, Common milkweed, Cinnamon fern, and Polish Spirit clematis.
