Notes

'Nico' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Nico') is a perennial for borders and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Kelway bred it. The tall, open plants bloom freely in early summer with large, semi-double, crimson-pink flowers that have silver tips. The buds form in clusters, and the light green leaves look full.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Indian grass, and Grape hyacinth.
