Notes
'Nippon Triumph' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Nippon Triumph') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The red flowers have a Japanese form and are lighter than Nippon Brilliant. Many gardeners see it as a much improved Mikado, with larger blooms on better stems. Edward Auten, Jr bred it.
Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Carlton daffodil, and Sensitive fern.
