Notes

'Nobilissima' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Nobilissima') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Large, flat blooms open in late spring in white with carmine-pink and violet shading. Strong, upright stems carry the flowers above dark green leaves. Auguste Joseph Miellez bred it in 1858.

Pairs well with Aromatic aster, Matrona october daphne, Queen of Night tulip, and Rose.
