'Nong Yuan Jin Ke' peony (Paeonia 'Nong Yuan Jin Ke') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Its fragrant, semi-double yellow flowers have red flares that give the center an orange glow. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Butterflies visit the blooms in spring.
Pairs well with Sweet woodruff, Toad lily, and The President clematis.
