Notes

'Norma Lou' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Norma Lou') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double red flowers open in early summer and have some pollen bearing stamens. William Henry Krekler bred it, and it is named for the granddaughter of his foreman.

Pairs well with Pale purple coneflower, Smooth hydrangea, Royal fern, and Spanish bluebell.
