Notes

'Norseman' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Norseman') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The flowers are single and light red, so they show up well in a mixed border. James Pillow bred it from Catawba and Tulsa. You can cut the blooms for a vase and enjoy them indoors.

Pairs well with Earth Angel hosta, Prairie dropseed, and African Queen lily.
