Notes

'Novamac' apple (Malus domestica 'Novamac') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It blooms in early to late spring and attracts bees. The fruit ripens a bit ahead of McIntosh, its parent, and has the same sweet, wine-like flavor. The apples keep for 2 to 3 weeks.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Flowering quince, Butterfly milkweed, and Prairie dropseed.
