Odorata Plena tree peony

Garden uses

Notes

'Odorata Plena' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Odorata Plena') is a shrub for borders and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its woody stems stay above ground through winter, so skip the fall cutback you would give a perennial peony. Cut blooms last well in a vase, and the shrub also fits a mixed bed.

Pairs well with Star magnolia, Little Lime panicle hydrangea, Cinnamon fern, and Carnaval De Nice tulip.
