Notes
'Opal Hamilton' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Opal Hamilton') is a perennial for borders, cut flower use, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The orchid pink flowers have staminodes in the same color. Yellow carpels and bases give each bloom a heavenly glow. The blossoms open well, and the stems and foliage are good.
Pairs well with Hosta, Smooth hydrangea, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Queen of Night tulip.
