Notes

'Opalescence' garden phlox (Phlox paniculata 'Opalescence') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It grows in a clumping form up to 36 inches tall and blooms from early to late summer. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. The fragrant flowers draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.

Pairs well with Dense blazing star, Bee balm, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
