Notes

'Oriole' apple (Malus domestica 'Oriole') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating and cooking. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. The University of Minnesota bred it in 1949, and bees visit the spring blooms. The fruit does not keep, so store it in the refrigerator. Plant a second apple nearby for pollination.

Pairs well with Pink Lemonade blueberry, Prairie Sun rudbeckia, Sedge, and Johnny jump up.
