Notes

'Otome' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Otome') is a shrub for espalier, containers, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and moist soil. Pearl-pink, fully double flowers open in profusion from late winter to early spring. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give it a protected spot with rich, acidic soil.

Pairs well with Crimson Queen Japanese maple, Cobra lily, and Sedge.
