Notes

'Ouragan' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Ouragan') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The single ruby-red flowers have purple shading and dark flares. They open in late spring on strong stems above purple-green foliage with bronzy edges. Michel Rivière bred it.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Ostrich fern, and Black Parrot tulip.
