Notes

'Oxford' peony (Paeonia 'Oxford') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1975, and the semi-double dark red blooms are fragrant and long lasting. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Liberty hosta, Phantom panicle hydrangea, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Queen of Night tulip.
