Notes

Pacific island silvergrass (Miscanthus floridulus) is a grass for specimen planting, accents, privacy screens, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Reddish tan plumes appear in autumn and last into winter. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Birds visit the plant, and it tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Little bluestem, Hardy hibiscus, and Beautyberry.
