Notes

'Purpurascens' miscanthus (Miscanthus 'Purpurascens') is a grass for specimen planting, accents, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its red-tinged blooms appear in summer and again in autumn, and birds visit the plants. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Give the clumps room to reach their full size.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Balloon flower, and Korean spice viburnum.
