Notes

Pacific ninebark (Physocarpus capitatus) is a shrub for hedges and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flower clusters open from late spring into summer, and red fruits follow. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms, and birds eat the seeds. Deer tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Chokecherry, California sycamore, Winterberry, and Bracken.
