Notes

Padre's shooting star (Primula clevelandii) is a perennial for borders, woodland gardens, and low maintenance beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms colonies of light-green rosettes. Nodding magenta to white flowers sit in clusters on a bare stem, and butterflies visit them. The plant goes dormant by midsummer, so pair it with later bloomers.

Pairs well with Dwarf checkerbloom, Ookow, and California buttercup.
