Notes

'Path Lighter' peony (Paeonia 'Path Lighter') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It forms a two foot bush with big, floppy, fragrant red single blooms that have a tan center. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. Bees and butterflies visit the flowers.

Pairs well with Earth Angel hosta, Queen of Night tulip, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
