Notes

'Patty' oriental poppy (Papaver orientale 'Patty') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and cut flower use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. Soft plum flowers open in spring. It goes semi-dormant after flowering, so plant a low, mounding perennial in front to hide the bare spot. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits.

Pairs well with PowWow White coneflower, Eastern columbine, and Nodding onion.
