Notes

'Royal Wedding' oriental poppy (Papaver orientale 'Royal Wedding') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. It goes semi-dormant after flowering as summer heat rises, then flushes new foliage as fall cools. Plant a low, mounding perennial in front to mask the bare spot.

Pairs well with Brookside crane's-bill, Baby's breath, and Blueberry Bliss iris.
