Notes
'Pennacook' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Pennacook') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The flowers are dark red and have a Japanese type form. Cut a few blooms to bring indoors, and enjoy the dark red color in a vase. Benjamin W. Guppy bred it.
Pairs well with Cheerfulness daffodil, Ostrich fern, and Dalmatian bellflower.
