Notes
'Pie Plate' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Pie Plate') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large white flowers bloom in mid to late spring. They start cupped, then open flat to the size of a pie plate. Tall, wiry stems hold the blooms up well.
Pairs well with August Moon hosta, Royal fern, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Goldsturm black-eyed Susan.
