Notes

Sugar pine (Pinus lambertiana) is a tree for woodland settings and low maintenance landscapes. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average soil of most types. It is the largest of all pines and can grow more than 200 feet tall. The needles grow in groups of five, and the cones can reach 18 inches long. Sugar pine grows best in groves and is susceptible to blister rust.

Pairs well with Chinkapin oak, River birch, Bracken, and Japanese forest grass.
