Notes

Jack pine (Pinus banksiana) is a tree for borders, hedges, and privacy screens. It is hardy to USDA zone 2, or down to -50°F (-46°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast and can thrive in soils too poor for most plants. It sits low on the menu for deer. It is useful to songbirds and game birds.

Pairs well with Globosa Colorado spruce, Candy Stripe moss phlox, Red fescue, and Pearly everlasting.
