'Ping Pong mix' globe amaranth (Gomphrena globosa 'Ping Pong mix') is an annual for borders, containers, and pollinator gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and tolerates drought, and butterflies and bees visit the flowers. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.
Pairs well with First Knight fountain grass, Black-eyed Susan, and Celosia.
