Notes

'Pixie' carnation (Dianthus 'Pixie') is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Reddish pink flowers are fragrant and open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Butterflies and bees visit the blooms.

Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Nodding onion, and Limeglow creeping juniper.
