Notes

'Pixie' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Pixie') is a tree for specimen, accent, container, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly into a broad shape, reaching about 8 to 10 feet tall. Bees and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought once settled.

Pairs well with Green Carpet Japanese pachysandra, Alpine hair grass, Spring snowflake, and Elegans hosta.
