Notes

Plains zinnia (Zinnia grandiflora) is an annual for borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and pollinator gardens. Frost will kill it, so set it out only after the last frost in spring. Give it full sun to part shade and dry to average soil of most types. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Its bright yellow flowers attract butterflies and bees. The color lasts most of the summer on mounds only 4 to 8 inches tall.

Pairs well with Blue grama, Fourwing saltbush, and Winterfat.
