Notes
Pointed-petal fritillary (Fritillaria acmopetala) is a bulb for borders, containers, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Green bell-shaped flowers with burgundy streaks nod on 12 inch stems in early to late spring, and bees visit them. Mulch it well for winter. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice.
Pairs well with Carnaval De Nice tulip, Nepeta, and Mallow.
Native range
Central Asia and Xinjiang.
