Notes

Prairie sedge (Carex prairea) is a grass for meadow plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes moist to wet soil. The copper colored foliage reaches up to 40 inches tall. It blooms from early to late summer. In the wild, it grows in wet meadows, bogs, fens, and along lakeshores, so it suits damp sites.

Pairs well with Blue flag, Royal fern, and White phlox.
