Notes

'Prairie Sky' switchgrass (Panicum virgatum 'Prairie Sky') is a grass for borders, accents, winter interest, and rain gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to wet, sandy or clay soil. It forms a clumping mound 48 to 72 inches tall and tolerates drought and salt. Deer tend to pass it by. Butterflies and birds visit the dark red blooms.

Pairs well with Blue wild indigo, Chokeberry, and Red twig dogwood.
