'Prévention du suicide' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Prévention du suicide') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Mid-season flowers have white guard petals around a ball of pale yellow petaloids. The blooms are fragrant and sit three to a stem. Strong stems hold the large flowers upright.
Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Dalmatian bellflower, and Sensitive fern.
