Notes

'Pride of Blasdell' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Pride of Blasdell') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type blooms in early summer with dark rose-pink guard petals and yellow tipped, pink staminodes at the center. Green seed pods with rose tips follow the flowers. Breeder Ernest Flint Kelsey developed it.

Pairs well with Incrediball hydrangea, Queen of Night tulip, Sweet William, and Western sword fern.
