Notes

'Pride of Essex' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Pride of Essex') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double flowers open in mid to late spring with light rose-pink petals that fade to blush-white. They have a strong, fresh fragrance. Stiff stems hold the blooms upright.

Pairs well with Dalmatian bellflower, Spanish bluebell, and Sensitive fern.
